Ανεμώνη-Ανεμολούλουδο
Το όνομα του λουλουδιού συνδέεται με τον αρχαίο ερωτικό μύθο του Άδωνι και της Αφροδίτης. Ο μύθος είναι πολύ γνωστός. Ενέπνευσε μάλιστα και μεγάλους ποιητές όπως ο Οβίδιος και αρκετά αργότερα ο Σαίξπηρ να γράψουν ύμνους σ' αυτόν τον έρωτα. Εμείς θα αναφερθούμε στο σημείο εκείνο του μύθου που έχει σχέση με το λουλούδι. Σύμφωνα με το μύθο λοιπόν ο Άδωνις βγήκε για κυνήγι στο δάσος. Εκεί όμως τον παραφύλαγε ο θεός Άρης ο προηγούμενος εραστής της Αφροδίτης που ζήλευε τον Άδωνι αφού η Αφροδίτη τον παράτησε για τα μάτια του ωραίου νέου. Ο Άρης μεταμορφώθηκε σε άγριο κάπρο, επιτέθηκε στον Άδωνι και τον πλήγωσε θανάσιμα.
Η Αφροδίτη άκουσε τα βογκητά του Άδωνι και έσπευσε να τον βρει. Όμως ήταν πια αργά. Απαρηγόρητη η Αφροδίτη πήρε στην αγκαλιά της το άψυχο σώμα του αγαπημένου της και όπως λέγεται ράντισε με νέκταρ την πληγή. Και από το μείγμα που έκαναν το νέκταρ με το αίμα ξεπήδησε ένα όμορφο λουλούδι. Μόνο που η ζωή αυτού του λουλουδιού κρατάει λίγο. Όταν ο άνεμος φυσάει κάνει τα μπουμπούκια του φυτού να ανθίσουν και ύστερα ένα άλλο ανεμοφύσημα παρασέρνει τα πέταλα μακριά. Έτσι το λουλούδι αυτό ονομάστηκε ανεμώνη ή ανεμολούλουδο επειδή ο άνεμος βοηθάει την ανθοφορία του αλλά και την παρακμή του.
